Handa Island. June 2010.

Date: Wednesday 16th June 2010
Distance: 6.4km
Ascent: 330m

Not much to say in terms of route here – catch the passenger ferry/boat to Handa Island and follow the path.

Give yourself a good 4 hours to wander the 6km or so.

S to Scourie/Badcall:

Old Man of Stoer and Bonxie:

Arctic Skua:

Garden Tiger Moth Caterpillar:

The Great Stack:

Sea Pink:

Fulmars preening:

Oystercatchers (Trilleachan in gaelic)- they were very territorial – we saw 2 others attacking a black-backed gull that was trying to steal their chick:

The lizards absolutely loved the wooden boardwalks – there were tons of them heating themselves:

And back to the boat:

Just a great place – scenery and wildlife. Well worth a visit.
